 Captain Harry Jobes was born in 1936 in Havre de Grace, Maryland. Capt. Harry operated his own boat for forty three years crabbing, fishing, and hosting gunning parties. He was only eight years old when he started fooling around with decoys with Charles Barnard. Capt. Harry entered his first decoy in a show when still in high school. At age twelve he started working in Madison Mitchell’s decoy shop.  Capt. Harry is the father of Bobby, Charles, and Joey Jobes which all make decoys as well. Capt. Harry Jobes still is carving decoys till this day out of Aberdeen, Maryland.
